When you are ready, you can then simply take out your steaks or chops from the bag and then grill or fry as normal.īelow are some of our favourite recipes for a perfect pork steak or pork chop marinade. Once your marinade is fully combined, all you need to do is place your steaks or chops and the marinade into a sandwich or freezer bag, cover your steaks or chops in the marinade and massage slightly, then tightly seal your steaks or chops in the bag, then place in the fridge up to overnight. At this stage you can also prick your steaks slightly with a fork to allow the flavours to penetrate the meat further, but many people do not find this step necessary. To follow the recipes, simply tip all of your ingredients into a bowl and stir together until thoroughly combined. This makes marinating great for doing a bit of meal preparation during the week to then grill your steaks as a part of a quick and easy midweek meal later on, but also means you can prepare your items in advance if you are having a BBQ and can then concentrate solely on grilling to perfection on the day.Įach of these marinades will cover at least two pork steaks, and can be scaled up or down to suit. One of the great things about marinating your meat is that it can be done a few hours to overnight before you actually have to cook it. If you are a fan of bacon, and many people are, pork steaks and pork chops are sure to please! Pork steaks are slightly lighter than beef steaks but are still juicy, tender, and full of flavour. The less I have to worry at the grill the better my food comes out.Beef steak may be the most commonly known type of steak, but pork steaks are a close second. Since lean pork loin meat gets dry and chalky pretty quickly, try not to overcook them. Pork chops need to get to at least 145F internal temperature to be safe to eat. As well, make sure to flip the meat frequently while grilling. Since this grilled pork chop marinade is sweet, you want to keep the temperature at about medium-high to prevent burning. This way they won’t dry out before they cook through. Pork chops are best to cook fast over high heat. I’ve marinated pork chops with this marinade for as long as 72 hours and did not notice any adverse effect. If you are not ready to grill the next day and want to keep the pork chops in the fridge a little longer, that’s totally fine. What I do is I marinate pork chops the night before, at my convenience, then grill the next day whenever I am ready. But if you let the meat marinate at least overnight, you will be rewarded with mind-blowingly intense, deep and complex flavors, and tender and juicy meat. If pressed for time, you can easily get away with 30 minutes of marination time and still get a pretty tasty chop. This is the kind of a pork chop you just want to keep eating. Pork chops made with this marinade are out of bounds. You can get it from most grocery stores or from Amazon. It’s less salty and can be used in relatively greater quantities. Dark soy sauce has a deeper color, flavor and more body. Using dark soy sauce is key in this recipe. Or the Asian-inspired flavors that are bold and big. Perhaps it’s the perfect balance of sweet, pungent, savory, salty and tangy notes. There is something about it that makes the taste very special. There are dozens of very good grilled pork chop marinades but this one really stands out. It’s so good that I called it ‘killer grilled pork chop marinade’. I never thought I’d taste another marinade worthy of the ‘killer’ status that I awarded to my hugely popular chicken thigh marinade, but here it is.
